Overall Head´s Letter

Graciela Borrás de Xanthopoulos

When we founded Saint Mary of the Hills School we were certain that a child´s path through Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary school is beyond a purely academic issue. It is, in fact, a starting point facing assertively a stronger challenge: to educate for life. That is our compromise and faith featured in the school motto: Wisdom and Service.

This is achieved by means of an intense academic education both in Spanish and English and through a permanent personal encounter: both balance the preparation for future studies so that students can discover their vocation and mission on a personal basis. Our main task is to acknowledge and encourage every pupil´s original way of being through all the different activities that take place at school.

While students grow in knowledge and values they prepare themselves for their insertion in a global changing world; assuming their own identity and idiosyncrasy accepting differences and finally facing unexpected situations which the 21 st century will expose them to.

That every student entrusted to this community should be able to explore and develop their individual talents in a caring environment where academic excellence is pursued, should grow up to be a broad-minded adult sustaining values related to Christian faith and living, so as to learn for life.
